Swine Flu? Psh!

All this talk about the swine flu is making me think: What if the swine flu causes a ZOMBIE OUTBREAK?! I mean, how cool would that be?! I would so be ready. And as long as you read this book, you'll be okay too (I promise!)

Zombies are pretty much the coolest thing ever. Now I feel like just posting photos of them. I should be studying for my final that I have soon, but I'm already in summer mode, sooooo, yeah.

ZOMBIES FTW!!!

PHOTOS WANTED!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Yes, this is sort of a new project that I'm starting. I would love to get not only my friends to participate, but anyone! You don't have to be a photographer at all.

I wish I could say I have something else exciting to write about, but I really don't. My posts will start getting better. I'm really busy this week trying to get packed up since I will be returning to Jersey for the summer on Friday. I'm so excited :]

Anyways, if you're interested in participating in my little project and are looking to contact me, you can message me via my flickr

or you can e-mail me at

Thanks in advance!!

Inspiration, Inspiration, Inspiration

Before I begin with what might be my longest blog post ever, I'd like to pay my respects to a woman who passed away today. She was the grandmother of my best friend. I always considered her to be my second grandma because her and her husband always treated me like their granddaughter. She was such sweet woman, may she rest in peace.

Today I was introduced to a lot of really cool work. What I'm about to talk to you about may make you hungry, but try not to drool all over your keyboard :P Cake Wrecks is a really sweet blog full of photos of really awesome cakes that people have made. Some really cool ones that caught my eye were:

This one made me laugh hysterically:

OH MY GOD A LIFESIZE BARBIE CAKE!!!

Anyways, those were some of my favorites, but you can check out the blog yourself and see all of the other cakes!

Another artist I was inspired by today is Elinor Carucci. I'm taking my Photo Seminar class with her next year and didn't even look at her work. I took a quick look today in class and it was amazing. Her work is absolutely beautiful. Her series "Closer" is just an outstanding collection of photos. I can't save the pictures off of her website so I'll post a few from google. Visit her website though and give them a look because they're much better quality.

Last, but certainly not least...my friend showed me this next guy's work. He used lego men to recreate famous images. They're so interesting, and very humorous.

Henri Cartier-Bresson's "Behind the Gare Saint Lazare"

"Lunch atop a skyscraper" taken by Charles Ebbets

Alfred Eisenstaedt's 1945 photograph "V.J. Day Times Square"

Annie Leibovitz's controversial photo of Miley Cyrus

That one is really funny. Check out his flickr and see the other famous photos he recreated plus all of his other work.

Today I was also thinking about how much I want to make a photo book. I want to take a series of photos and then actually make and print copies, maybe to sell, or maybe just for my mom. I'm going to really think about it because it might be a really good thing :) I am extremely exhausted though and will probably fall asleep within the next hour, hahaha.

Less and Less

I am updating less and less, and this is due to the fact that my semester is ending in 2 weeks and I'm going to be up to my neck in work until then. Even in the last 10 days that I haven't updated nothing that exciting happened. HOWEVER!!!! On Friday, Samer was in the city so we decided to go on a photo adventure.

Other than that though...I just had a great weekend with Ryan and beautiful weather. Tomorrow starts another week. I have plenty of work to do and will probably not be updating very much. I'll try my best though!!!

My Unsaid Everything

Photobucket

That was my work space yesterday morning in the digital lab. The essentials, of course! And if you look closely at the computer screen, even though I was working hard, facebook was still up. HAHAHA!

In studio yesterday, we shot nudes. The people in my group actually wanted to shoot, which is a big deal because except for a select few, no one ever knows what they want to shoot. I took this opportunity to relax for once. We had a lot of fun though.

Brett checked his facebook, hahaha. WHO TOOK THAT AWESOME PHOTO OF HIM?! ;)

Julie set up a pretty cool lighting scenario to shoot silhouettes

Then Marissa used the same lighting to do a Charlie Chaplin type shoot with her model

Brett decided halfway through class that he wanted to change his name...He was doing research online for a cool new name. He decided on Sebastian, so for the rest of class he was known as that.

Here are two of photos that I took. I also shot a male nude model this week. I'm still debating whether or not I want to put them up.

We also witnessed, what seemed to be, an argument between neighbors on their rooftop across from our building. Brett thought it would be a good idea to override their conversation with his own dialogue. I decided to record it. This is where I leave you!
